Good Governance Essay Example for Free

Good Governance Essay Good Governance has 8 major characteristics. It is participatory, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, effective and efficient, equitable and inclusive and follows the rule of law. It assures that corruption is minimized, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making. It is also responsive to the present and future needs of society. But there is one characteristic I like most, it is the Accountability. Accountability is a key requirement of good governance. Not only governmental institutions but also the private sector and civil society organizations must be accountable to the public and to their institutional stakeholders. Who is accountable to who varies depending on whether decisions or actions taken are internal or external to an organization or institution. In general an organization or an institution is accountable to those who will be affected by its decisions or actions. Accountability cannot be enforced without transparency and the rule of law. Maybe some of you will ask why is accountability important to Governance? It is because it evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of public officials or public bodies ensures that they are performing to their full potential, providing value for money in the provision of public services, instilling confidence in the government and being responsive to the community they are meant to be serving. Being accountable is also being liable, responsible for every person that affects your decision. For example, me as a Student leader we are here to serve students, to fight for their rights. Therefore, we must consider first the sake of the students before we make a decision. Because when we took our positions there is a corresponding responsibility that we must face. Reproductive Health Bill informally known as the RH Bill, are proposed laws in the Republic of the Philippines aiming to guarantee universal access to methods of contraception, fertility control, sexual education, and maternal care. For sure you are wondering why this issue is in this essay, well I believe this issue is related on being accountable. Why? Did government even consider that our country is well known to be a religious country? That, in every time they use those contraceptives they are actually killing an innocent life? They always say that this is the only way to surpass, lessen poverty. But it’s actually wrong, do they consider the effect of this or should I say to they consider themselves accountable/liable for this? Corruption is definitely one of the problems seen by the citizen and the government as well. There have been lots of controversies relative to government officials being involved with money issues. The thing is that even though there are hearings and investigations, the truth never seems to come outwhether its positive or negative news. Poverty and employment would also be among the problems. There are more people that are going hungry. Government and Us are all accountable to it. Why? We as a citizen we can make a living among ourselves because at the end of the day we are still the driver of our own life. But, as a citizen we voted those who are on the position now because we believe that they will minimize our burdens. At the point that we elect them they are already accountable. But after they got what they want all their promises turn to trash. They do things without even considering us. In the end, nothings happen. Accountability or being accountable can be achieved by putting and doing all our jobs in our hearts. Yes, it’s hard but we chose to be in this place all we need to do is face it effectively and do the best we can for the better. Don’t be scared to commit mistakes because those are our experiences and lesson learned. Remember, think first before you make a decision.

Fireworks :: essays research papers

Every year, America celebrates many holidays with fireworks. One of the most popular selections is a Roman Candle. If you want to try to make this at home, common pyrotechnics stores have all the supplies you would need. Just think of the â€Å"oohhs† and â€Å"ahhhhs† when you light off your homemade fireworks at home.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  First of all, you need a sturdy, good tube. The tube should be cylindrical and should be at least 3/32 of an inch thick. The opening at the top of your tube should have a 5/8 inch opening. Then take a 1/16 inch fuse, make sure it covers the whole tube and sticks out a little bit, just like any other firework and keep the tube in place by using tape. Next, 1.25 grams of 3F BP should be poured into the tube. Then, gently put a one-half inch star down the tube. This is what will go up into the air and is responsible for the shots. Then, put some sawdust through the tube. Make sure the sawdust is evenly spread and turn the tube over. All contents should not fall out if this is done correctly. Make sure you use some sort of mechanism to push down upon the sawdust. Keep repeating these instructions. The tube should consist of bp, star, sawdust, bp, star, and sawdust for as many shots as you want. Good Luck with your newly made Roman Candle and have a safe experience. Next, we will examine how to make a salute go up in the air. Salutes are generally products that make a Kaboom sound when launched.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The lifting cup is made when you glue kraft paper that overhangs the salute. Next, you add some lift usually gunpowder to propel it. The inner paper should be glued with a small device or a glue gun. Meanwhile, while the glue is wet fold the paper into quarters. Place a cut in the newly formed pouch and add a piece of quick match. Now, we will learn how to make salute inserts. First off, buy some top- notch 3 inch tubes. Take all of your tubes and set them on a piece of tin foil. Secondly, you need to fill a tube to the top with hot glue and as the glue is about to dry put it into the freezer for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes is up pull the tin foil off of the tubes and put toilet paper down the open end of the tube.

In studying, parents are important to help guide, teach and lead their children because a child need supports from their loved ones and also discipline to be motivated.It is a parent’s responsibility to take care of their children, it is hard for a student to have no one to guide them especially in their studies because as a student you still need someone to teach you and it is best to learn from you parents. Now-a-days a lot of students live without parents due to certain reasons and in some research it is said that this truly affects the child not only psychologically but also socially and academically. Ducks Unlimited Essay - 1083 Words

Ducks Unlimited is a North American non-profit organization that conserves wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife and people. Ducks Unlimited was formed during the Great Depression when a group of conservation-minded waterfowlers saw a decrease in waterfowl populations. As an employee of Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), I have a strong understanding of the company, and I will be analyzing the site of DUC’s sister organization – Ducks Unlimited Inc. (DUI). Rhetorical Design DUI’s primary audience is its supporters, which includes members and volunteers who already donate. In the U.S., these supporters are mainly waterfowl hunters and people who have an invested interest in wetlands, waterfowl and other wildlife.†¦show more content†¦Interface Design The navigation structure of the site is broken into blocks and is very clear. Being broken up this way makes it easy to see the different sections instead of everything blending together without clear dividers. The only criticism would be that there seems to be a great deal of links, which could cause viewers to feel overwhelmed by the options. The navigation bar banner and the side navigation bar are strongly apparent on each page making it easy to go back and forth between pages. The back-to-home button sits under the Ducks Unlimited logo in the top left-hand corner of the page, but it does not stand out. It should be more prominent on the page or highlighted better so the user can see how to get back to the home page from any page within the site. The site does include the basic document elements of who, what, when and where and these elements are very helpful. Having current news releases and content that is dated helps the site remain relevant and the user gets the sense that the website is updated regularly and that the content is fairly timely. The â€Å"Contact Us† link is also apparent more than once throughout the home page and subsequent pages, making DUI accessible to the user. Page Design Enterprise web identity can be used to analyze the DUI site. The design and content of the site does not lead the users to believe that the organization is anything but what they really are. The entire site also uses consistentShow MoreRelatedDucks Unlimited Vs.
